The Dojo: Intervals
SMM-250 · Theory that lives on the fretboard
Map Mode (start here): tap any fret to set a root. Every note in the five-fret box around it is labelled by its interval, so you can see the shapes instead of hunting for them. Tap a labelled note to hear it. Tap outside the box to move the root.
Explorer Mode — click any fret to set a root, click again to see the interval. Ghost markers show where that interval lives across the whole neck.
Trainer Mode — you're given a root and an interval name. Find it. The fretboard reveals nothing until you answer. Build streak.
"To get away from the constant 'scale doodling' and get into playing melodies, it helps to sing intervals." In Map mode, tap a note and the readout names a song that starts with that interval. Rock Guitar Secrets, p.175
